Light Jedi: Lecture #1 The
Meaning of a Jedi Perhaps the subject that holds the most confusion about our position is the definition of a "Light Side" Jedi. A Light Side Jedi is a force user that strives to use only the positive uses of the force to achieve a positive reaction. By doing this, we hope to achieve a unity of cause and effect. By avoiding uses of the force that may be effective (however not fully "light") we promote good acts through good means. This has many relative uses to the modern day Jedi. Being a Jedi means doing your best in all circumstances. It involves being honest in the way that you conduct your affairs, and your life. A Jedi of the modern day can use the force to dramatically impact their life and the lives of others, simply by living by the Jedi code, and looking for a positive solution for all things. It is better to create than to destroy...better to nurture than to damage. The major difference between Light Side Jedi and other Force users is the methods that we apply in order to achieve a goal. Our strict code of conduct makes our use of the force the most limited...but also the most controlled. I encourage my Padawan, as well as I encourage all of you, to use the Light side abilities that you have not only for minor things like settling disputes, etc...but also to make the world a better place. We are brought together by the Light Side doctrine of the Force to make an improvement on the situations we see around us. Sometimes, this involves standing up for what we believe in, and other times, it calls for charity work. Whatever the situation, in order to be a Jedi, you must first follow the codes that are set forth by the Jedi. These include searching for knowledge...keeping control of your emotions...and most of all, helping those in need. May the force be with you, and may you use it wisely. JediKnightG |
