Ray
of Light

The following
poem was written for Jedi Knight Aisha Rust by a dear friend of
hers. She has graciously given permission for me to share it here
with all of you.
Ray of Light
We go through life sometimes feeling small,
why are we here, what's the point of it all?
If we could know how huge we are,
how many lives have brought us this far.
There is a light so bright it shines,
we each have one that travel through time.
The light is us in our whole state,
perfect and pure all love not hate.
But once in a while our light gets faded,
as a thought not so pure, maybe bad or jaded,
flickers through our being so an education
is needed.
So a vessel of life and experience is seeded.
Through this life's situations and loves,
lessons are learnt for our light above.
When all is done and our time has come,
to return to our flame and review what we've done.
We pass back over to the whole of our being,
which burns more brightly for what we've been seeing.
The knowledge we've gained and the pain that we've felt,
casts off the impurity for which the life was dealt.
The only thing left to tarnish our brilliant light,
is the loved ones that we left grieving at our flight.
If only they knew that when there time comes,
to return to their light and burn brighter than the sun,
that they'll be reunited with all they've ever loved,
and the life that they led seem so small from above.
A very short space of time in eternity,
To wait for not what you've lost but cannot see.
For I guarantee you this, they are still around,
In every ray of light by which we are all bound.
